This position provides support to the Assistant Controller and/or Controller in performance of activities related to daily operation of the Accounting Department for the Grand Beach Hotel Group.  This position also preparing reconciliation's and reports

 

 

Job Specifications

Qualifications

  Associates or higher degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or equivalent

  Two years supervisory experience in Hospitality accounting environment preferred.

  Knowledge of computer software operating systems to include; Windows, Excel, Word, Accounting and Property Management Systems

  Working knowledge of basic office equipment operation

  Effective management, leadership, organizational and communication skills

  Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

  A minimum of AP and AR basics knowledge or equivalent to two year of experience

 

 

Job Duties

Job Specific

  Supports Controller's and Assistant Controller efforts related to supervision of Accounting Department personnel

  Monitors daily activities of accounts payable to ensure accurate recording of information.

  Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statement

  Provides support during annual internal and external audits

  Assists in the performance of the General Ledger review

  Current with pertinent hotel information and activities

  Assists in preparing all reconciliation's of; pre-paid accounts, intercompany and AP accounts.

  Assists in the gathering of pertinent information necessary to prepare relevant journal entries for posting

  Assists in the preparation of  monthly utility accruals and end of month journal entries

  Monitor the daily punches and correct accounting payroll, and manager's payroll when needed.

  Assist on Payroll preparation, on a biweekly basis, including contracted staff.

  Prepares weekly schedules, and request overtime when needed.

  Participate on hotel inventory and reporting of this when needed

  Handle vendors and clients emails and/or inquiries as needed

  Trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines personnel according to Grand Beach Hotel

  Follows New Hire Training program in accordance with hotel policy

  Monitors daily adherence to departmental and Grand Beach Hotel guidelines, policies and procedures

  Attends departmental meetings as required to communicate effectively with all accounting personnel to ensure that they are kept

  Cover any department position upon needed.
